Prospective buyers have lots of questions when viewing and considering a new home to purchase. After all, choosing a first or new home is a big decision, and it’s important to be well-informed about a property you’re interested in. 

The following are some common questions you might be asked by interested parties or potential buyers considering an offer. Make sure you can answer them clearly, and it might be a good idea to jot this information down in one place for when prospective buyers or their agents ask. 

1 - What is the square footage of the home?
2 - Where are the lot lines/boundaries of property?
3 - What school district is local to this home?
4 - Are there any subdivision restrictions, or association/trash collection fees to consider?
5 - What appliances are included in the sale of the home?
6 - What type of heat and what are the annual costs?
7 - Have you had regular furnace maintenance done?
8 - How old is the furnace/water heater/water softener/central air system?
9 - What is the type/amperage of electrical system and is the system full?
10 - Are the stove and dryer gas or electric?
11 - Is there a water softener or iron filter? If so, is it rented or owned?
12 - Have you had regular septic service performed? How deep is the well if there is one?
13 - How old is the roof? How many shingle layers are present?
14 - Is the garage insulated? Is there a door opener and is it included?
15 - Is cable television available?
